Get More Information from Core

Core and cuttings are the only direct evidence we can gather on the makeup of our reservoir.

Wireline (and MWD) logs provide indirect information via some interaction with the rock and fluid in the reservoir. As revealing as these can be, recovering actual reservoir material in the form of core and cuttings provides irrefutable samples from the formations of interest.

Conventional core analysis involves a wide range of physical tests and experimental procedures to derive properties from the core, most often from plugs taken at regular intervals (where this is possible).

But there is so much more information that can be captured, and new ways of analyzing the core material based on a variety of (core) logging and imaging technologies.

Where do you start? What equipment is required? How is this new data combined with conventional core analysis results to provide real value to the petrophysicist, geologist or researcher? What software tools do you need to process the results and perform the necessary analyses?

Near Koprulu Canyon in Taurus Mountains, Turkey.

This is where Digital Core Systems can help!

Digital Core Systems has teamed up with some of the best companies in the world to provide the equipment, the software and even the services that can help you take the next step in core analysis.

These analyses can be carried out on new core or old. Some equipment can even be located at the wellsite. So whether you want to upgrade your core laboratory to the 21st century, or you want to install an advanced core imaging and archiving facility, Digital Core Systems can provide what you need.
